About Quakers

How We Worship

Meeting for worship is the center of our life as a spiritual community. We meet in silence attempting to listen to the Holy Spirit within and among us for healing, peace, joy, and direction for our lives. There is no pastor or structured program, so that each of us may experience a direct relationship with God. This allows each of us to seek the Inner Light in his or her own way.

Our worship, an openness to the spirit of God, occasionally prompts someone to speak. Anyone may participate in speaking. Messages hopefully arise from a deeply felt spiritual awareness and the conviction that it must be shared. Subsequent speaking often comes from other attenders after time to reflect upon what has been said.
